Our Environment

At County Place Early Learning & Day Care in Sherwood Park, we strive to provide a clean, safe and educational environment for young children and their families. Within our care, children develop skills that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth. We believe in being supportive of our parents, and we welcome their positive involvement and presence at County Place at all times. We further believe that within our environment, children can thrive and have the opportunity to blossom into responsible and contributing members of our society.

Our Philosophy

County Place Early Learning & Day Care is dedicated and committed to our children by providing exceptional education and quality child care. It is our philosophy to focus on the needs of the individual child by providing a stimulating atmosphere for learning along with a secure, loving environment. It is our belief that a childcare facility should be an extension of each child’s family. At County Place, teachers and parents are encouraged to work together to provide the love and support needed as your child reaches developmental milestones and their own personal achievements. We are passionate about education and providing our children with the tools to be successful in life.

Our goal as a daycare provider is to have a secure, safe and happy environment where children feel comfortable while they are away from family and home. This includes a learning environment where they have the tools to excel at their own pace and helping them to learn independence.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My daughter started going here in September of this year. She is very shy and has a hard time adapting to new places. While she is still struggling, the staff seem to genuinely care about her and her comfort. They've had conversations with me about what her interests may be and what kinds of things they can do to help her during the tougher moments. I appreciated that a lot. While my daughter may still have the occasional moment in the mornings of not wanting to go to daycare, I've had conversations with her and she has grown to really like a couple of the staff members there, and even at her grumpiest they always greet her with a smile and make so much effort to make her feel comfortable and welcome. They plan little fun things for the kids throughout the month or mini field trips (like going to the museum across the street, my daughter LOVED that) and while my she might still complain occasionally in the mornings about having to go, she almost never comes home afterwards complaining, she just tells me all the fun stuff she did.

We tried switching to a different daycare that was closer for a period of time but my child wasn’t having it. County Place is his favourite and he would not have being anywhere else. Watching our son flourish, socialize, grow and create friendships has warmed our hearts beyond anything we imagined. The staff are incredibly kind and compassionate and genuinely love and care for every child. They keep open communication consistently and are very easy to talk to. The menu and food are healthy and provide variety! Knowing our son is in the best of hands and comes home happy, healthy and continously learning has us over the moon.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I have found this child-care facility to be mostly beneficial for our son. Benefits include well-trained staff that are both considerate and responsible, NO TV-time, in-house prepared meals that are both wide ranging and mostly healthy (as well as an early-morning and late-afternoon snack). A few downsides are limited gross-motor learning equipment (i.e. climbing equipment, although they have recently added some structures outside that are appreciated and do work hard to add new items where they can) and individual one on one assistance with fine-motor development is also limited (to be fair, that's likely the case with most child-care facilities where you have one teacher to eight kids, which is the Alberta standard for all child care facilities I believe in a pre-school setting). Mostly we're very happy with the staff and they've been very proactive in helping us to continue to assess our son's progress (even going so far as to recommend external programs for both us and him where required).

Why did you choose County Place for your family daycare?

It's bright and clean, healthy snacks, outdoor attached play space, multicultural and I like the learning program focus.

We have and will continue to recommend CP to our friends and colleagues.

It is smaller and more intimate than most, which is what we value for our child. Very warm and friendly staff!

Because County Place is a safe place for my baby and all the staff good and friendly.

I chose County Place because I loved the focus on learning and the healthy menu. The staff are friendly and caring. I am always impressed by the structure and organization. I love all the fun things they do each month to make it fun for the kids (culture of the month, field trips, activities, etc.) I love that I feel comfortable leaving my child each day and know that they are safe, healthy and happy. I also love the effort put in by the director to make county place so different and special. She really works hard to give the children such a great experience. County Place is a fantastic child care facility. I would highly recommend to any parent looking for child care.

Bright and open concept. The people are friendly and caring.

Close to home, great meal and snack selection, and they work hard to meet the children’s needs.

I like that they offer healthy kids meal, and I love the teachers in the baby room. They are so friendly and so attentive to my child.

The setting is lovely with all the windows and natural light, and the space per number of kids is great. The outdoor spaces offer great opportunities for the children to play and learn in as well.
